The GS Pivot Hinge offers a versatile range of applications, accommodating 5/16″ to 1/2″ (8 to 12 mm) tempered safety glass. This high-end hinge provides several benefits, such as carrying most of the weight on the bottom hinge, thus preventing the glass from sagging overtime. These self-centering hinges come with four springs that offer maximum retention strength. 

The GS Pivot Hinge is also adaptable to our Shower Header Kit (S-HK) for shower enclosures that do not extend all the way up to the ceiling.

The Pivot Adaptor Block for Header Kit (S-HK-AD) is sold as part of the header kit (S-HK) 

The hinge comes pre-configured with the 90-degree side activated as the default setting. This means that when the self-centering spring is engaged, the door will stop in a closed position and form a straight line (also known as 90° or 0°).  

However, the pin can be rotated to activate the other side (85°), which would cause the door to stop in a closed position that is 5° past a straight line. It’s important to note that the pin should not be turned upside down. The 85-degree side of the pivot pin is typically activated to achieve a tighter seal with certain types of shower gasket.

Using two hinges

With 5/16″ to 1/2″ glass (8 to 12 mm) the hinge will hold up to 100 lbs (45 kg) with a maximum door width of 32″ (813 mm).

*The term “50000 cycles open/close” is a test commonly used to measure the durability and lifespan of door hinges. It means that the hinge has been tested to withstand opening and closing the door 50,000 times without failing or showing signs of wear and tear.
